About

This year’s Twitchathon is being held over the weekend of Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October.

The NSW and ACT Twitchathon is a fun way to combine competitive, team-based birdwatching and community fundraising for important bird conservation projects. Anyone can compete in a Twitchathon, whether you are a backyard birdwatcher, a beginner birder, or a seasoned twitcher. There are three timed races to choose from: 30-hour, 8-hour and 3-hour.

Following the success of last year’s event which raised $27,000 for the Australian Painted Snipe, BIGnet are once again running the annual Twitchathon event in NSW and the ACT. The Twitchathon has been running in NSW and the ACT for close to 30 years. Between us, we have managed to raise very significant funds for a range of conservation projects over this time. Let’s make this year another success and raise over $27,000 to help fund research into new sensory tools to protect beach-nesting birds from introduced predators, such as foxes!
